The Weekly Business Spotlight is a FREE member benefit!
Each week a business member with a Chamber Mini-Page is highlighted here and in all our social media outlets. Get your business featured by setting up your Free Page today! Already have one? Make sure it's up-to-date because we'll use a picture from the page, and visitors will be reading what you have there!

ATTENTION: Be Aware of Sales Calls!

It's been brought to our attention that several out-of-state companies have been approaching local schools and businesses to solicit ads for 'community' calendars, t-shirts, magazines, maps and/or other promotional items. Some of these companies may have given the impression that they are contacting you at our request or with our endorsement. However, we at the Chamber have not endorsed any non-member companies for such purposes. All Chamber approved opportunities for advertising/promotional/event sponsorships will be clearly shown via our official marketing channels (this newlsetter, our facebook page, and/or our official website). Although you are free to chose any service you wish, we want you to be able to make informed decisions, and understand how to know when you are being contacted for Chamber purposes and when you are not. As you make promotional decisions, please bear in mind that we have local resources that can competitively offer these same services. If you have questions please do not hesitate to contact us at 229-776-7718.

Statewide Opportunities and Events

Small Business Rock Stars - The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) have once again teamed together to recognize the outstanding, out-of-the-box, unique and impacting small businesses in the state of Georgia.

This unique endeavor for GEDA is a huge success only because of the small businesses that impact Georgia every day…the risks, the innovation, the outreach, the impact, the reasons why…all of these qualities abound in Georgia and we want to recognize them at the February 16, 2015 GEDA Luncheon.

Our Chamber Committees In Action
Education Committee

The Sylvester Worth County Chamber of Commence Education Committee presented a check for $1500.00 to the Worth County High School to finish out the 2014 CACG Mini Grant.  The Education Committee will be working again this year, with our High School, to acquire another CACG Grant to present to the High School in 2015. The Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education through the CACG is providing Mini Grants to Chambers of Commerce to help get the message out that EDUCATION matters.  Pictured from left to right are Chamber Directors Shelly McPhaul and Jean Brooks, AmbassadorTony Bell with Coca Cola Bottling Company, Chamber President / CEO Karen Rackley, WorthCounty High School Principal Scott Chafin and Worth County Superintendent Kay Mathews.

We're Looking For You!
Committees are the heartbeat of the Chamber. Contact us to find out what committees are available, and how you can help with your time and talents!

An invitation to our Partners in Education and community at large!!
Worth County Rams High School Health Care Science Classes invite businesses and community to the Multi-Purpose room on Thursday, August 28th from 4pm-6pm to view exhibits from their Health Career Display Fair.

These displays will reflect the students' research into their future careers. The projects are guided by the Career Pathway standards and include topics such as: personal career choice, college requirements, licensing information, projected salaries, and much more. Students are working diligently with their teachers, Mrs. Missy Culpepper and Mrs. Leslie Evans to create engaging displays that may be chosen to compete at the State HOSA Competition.
