The Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce Education Committee went to the Worth County Middle School November 20, 2015, to start our mentorship program. Thank you Worth County Middle School!!! The Chamber has partnered with the Middle School and will have mentors, from the community, throughout the year discuss 8 topics on Character. Today’s topics were School Pride and Citizenship. The Chamber had 8 volunteers participate. Ms. Sandy Giddens from Worth County Board of Education. Ms. Jean Brooks, Individual, Ms. Shelly McPhaul, Best Friends Humane Society, Cameron Murkey, Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Debracca Thorton, Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Lisa Dylinski, Family Connections, Gina Connell, Worth County Health Department, Karen Rackley Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce and Denise Foster, Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce.
We all had a great time and are looking forward to our next visit!
The Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce and Farmers Appreciation Committee held it’s Annual Farmers Appreciation Dinner November 19, 2015 at the Worth County AG Pavilion.
Congratulations to this years Senior Farmer of the Year, David Bryan, Junior Farmer of the Year Blake Whittaker, and Conservationists Chris and Wayne Burdette. Special recognition was given to Keith Wills of the FSA Office who will be retiring on Dec 31, 2015.
The dinner was catered by Fat Boys Barbecue and More. Mr. Keith Willis welcomed our farmers and recognized special guests Representative Ed Rynders, Senator Greg Kirk, local elected officials City Councilman Randy Hill, Worth County Commissioner Billy McDonald and Sheriff Jeff Hobby.
Thank you to all our sponsors you are who help us make this yearly dinner so special! Special thanks to the Committee, Worth County FFA for our table decorations, Jeff Hobby and the Worth County Sheriffs office, Worth County High School JROTC, Worth County FSA Office, Worth County Extension Office and Worth County 4H. A great evening was had by all!
Celebrate the Holidays in Downtown Sylvester during our Downtown Christmas Open House

Our Downtown Christmas Open House is a retail event that no one wants to miss! The annual event has been occurring in downtown Sylvester for a number of years. Merchants will be offering discounts, sales, refreshments, door prizes, Christmas Music and much more. We welcome everyone to join in the fun and fellowship!
1) Make a purchase at any Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce business member.
2) Bring your purchase receipt to the Chamber (122 N Main Street) and register.
3) While at the Chamber, take a selfie with our Stop and Shop sign.
4) Post your selfie on your Facebook and tag the Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce (if you do not have a Facebook account, we will post it to ours).
Deadline to enter is 5:30p on December 2nd. Winner will be announced December 3rdat the Downtown Sylvester Christmas Festival on Kelley Street (after the City of Sylvester’s “Share the Gift of Christmas” Parade), and the winner will be presented with a $100 gift certificate to be used with any Chamber business! Winner need not be present to win, but must claim the prize by December 11th.
