The Sylvester – Worth County Chamber of Commerce hosted the 8th Grade Ambassadors Government Tour on April 22, 2016. The purpose of the tour is to educate the students about the resources that are available in their own community. The students were exposed to the local government and judicial system, emergency management and fire, the importance of graduating high school, businesses, and economic development. They were also taught the importance of volunteering, community service, and a clean and litter-free community.
We would like to thank our Government Committee who helps to put together the tour, the Worth County Middle School and Board of Education for their support and coordination with our committee, the Worth County Extension Office, Worth County Building and Zoning, Worth County E911, all the governmental entities and departments within the Worth County Courthouse and the City of Sylvester.
