We began 2016 with a fast run forward and haven’t stopped since! In January, February, and March, our Events, Education, Government, Membership and Retail Tourism committees met to set their agendas for the year. We accomplished much as well as well as hosted several events: Economic Development Summit, 1 st live remote from the Chamber, 34th Annual Dinner with record numbers, business visits to City of Poulan, 1st Annual Business Appreciation Breakfast, our 1st Lunch and Learn of the year, helped coordinate the 8th Grade Middle School Trip to the State Capitol, participated in the Awards program at the Middle School, 3 Leadership Worth Classes to date, and held two Ribbon Cuttings. We also put into motion several tasks to work on completing our 2016 Program of Work as well as signed up 8 new members to date. So to say we are moving forward at full speed ahead is an understatement! Things you can look forward to in upcoming months include our 1st Past Chair Luncheon, where we welcome those back to the table who helped us get to where we are today, 1st Teachers Appreciation Breakfast at the Primary School where we show appreciation to those who help develop our leaders of the future, our 6th Annual Business After Hours in conjunction with the WALB Road Show and the City of Sylvester, a political forum, our 8th Grade Government Tour, as well as we will be working on our new Community Magazine, upcoming festivals and other marketing promotions.
