Any type of Georgia-based small business is invited to apply. Nominate your own company or another great Georgia small business

Worth County Schools and Partners

The Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce is a Partner in Education, and We Love Our Schools! Click the Logo to see WCS News, or click the link to find out how to Become A Partner in Education!

We, the teachers, children, and leaders at Worth County Primary School, would be delighted if you could visit our building in celebration of Georgia Pre-K Week between October 3 - October 7, 2016 to share your favorite children’s books and experience the quality early learning that happens at our school.  As a valued member of the community, you will appreciate the wonderful education our children are receiving.  Each of our students is learning vocabulary, reading, and math –– laying the foundation of skills they will need in school and even once they join the workforce.

Fundamentally, all Georgians deserve a quality education and Georgia’s Pre-K program is a stepping-stone for our youngest learners to gain the quality education that we all agree they deserve.  More than one million students have passed through the doors of the Georgia Pre-K program since it started in 1996.  Since then, long-term longitudinal studies have reported that quality Pre-K for disadvantaged 3- and 4- year olds will lead to higher graduation rates, lower instances of welfare, incarceration and substance abuse.  Studies also confirm that educational programs for pre-school-aged children of all income groups are beneficial for early reading performance.

Every $1 invested in high quality early education saves $7 down the road as a result of lower demand for social services, reduced crime rates, and increased tax revenues, making the Pre-K program essential to our children and all of Georgia. If you are able to participate, please call or e-mail Kim Pritchard at 229-776-8660 / as soon as possible to set up the time for your visit so that we will be able to plan for your attendance.

Thank you and we hope you will join us to celebrate the importance of quality Pre-K programs in the life of a child.

Kim Pritchard
