On Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, the Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce's Car Show, Education, and Agricuture committees proudly awarded scholarships totaling $5,000 to six outstanding seniors from Worth County High School's Class of 2023. These scholarships help to support and empower the next generation of leaders in our community!
Agriculture Committee Scholarships - 3 at $1,000 each
This scholarship is for students who are a child/grandchild of a Worth County Farmer OR an FFA student, in the 4-H program in their junior and senior year of High School, and/or current college students pursuing an agricultural related field in college AND must have maintained a minimum of a 3.0 average throughout the 11-12 grades.
This year's recipients were Peyton Gwines, Ali Strenth, and Gavin Young.
CTAE Scholarships - 2 at $500 each
This scholarship is provided by the Education committee and is only available for students who attend Worth County Schools and have participated in the Ramtech CTAE programs. The funds for this scholarshp come from our 50/50 raffle.
This year's recipients were Conner Mullen and Gavin Young.
Car Show Committee - 1 at $1,000
This scholarship is provided by the Car Show committee and is only available for students who attend Worth County High School and have participated in the Automotive CTAE program.
This year's recipients was Wesley Childress.
